Night on Bald Mountain

is the Olympic Rally Competition Association's most challenging and fun monte carlo rally:  A gravel course in darkness.  The course for 2009 is  utilizing roads in the Capitol Forest.  Roads used in this event are comfortably traversable by most street vehicles with the exception of "tuners" and similarly lowered vehicles; i.e., entry of such vehicles is discouraged.  All vehicles must be street legal and in proper operating condition.

The rally will be formatted in the classic monte carlo style (NOT a race).  The instructions are indicated with mileaged alpines and speeds appropriate for the road conditions.  Usually there is no Novice class, however, Novice rallyists will not be discouraged from entering.  It is recommended that they click on the "A Monte Carlo is..." link and/or e-mail Dave Treen, the rally master for specific information.

Classes for this event are:  SOP, Equipped and Unlimited.  SOP class will be permitted to utilize a correctable odometer (a popular question this year),  such as an Alfa-Club clock/odometer for example.  Calculators are not permitted in SOP class.  If there's a question with regards to equipment, please contact the rally master.  For description of the different classes, please click the link for the General Instructions.
