TeamHightower has now owned three of these cars. The first was #1204. I had a lot of
fun with this car from driving to the Arctic Ocean and back (see
this link) to much fun sliding the car around in the gravel to
autocrossing. After a spun bearing halted the fun for a while, we completely
rebuild the engine and started running at around 18psi boost. Wow that makes
this car fast! .
We sold #1204 on September 12, 2000. It is a superb autocross car in it new hipro state. It was, unfortunatly, not as fine a TSD rally car as our 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. |

I picked #768 up from Daytona Beach, FL. It's been my daily driver for a few
months now, but with the purchase of 1392, I've sold this car.

OK, so I bought #768 to have a project. But it never fails that once you start something
it dominoes into something bigger. So it was that I found #1392 for sale in (relatively) nearby
San Francisco. I was able to buy it for less then what it would have cost me to get #768 into
the same shape. So I was back on a plane...
#1392 was a single owner car. The previous owner had every single piece of paper that the car had generated. It was amazing. The original window stickers, every oil change, every registration card, every insurance card and the original sales brocures. It was quite a large folder. This car was straight, clean and had been repainted not long ago. Now I already have the new 4G64 motor in the works over at Pina Motorsports. The new motor and rebuilt tranny will be going into #1392 along with a pile of other parts. Can't wait to get all the pieces together. |
